The Battle of Germaz was an engagement between the Kunosa’vlari Drow on behalf of the First Shining Empire and the First Orcish Horde.
Though officially the latter participant, it is important to note that by 799 VD, the First Empire had all but abandoned the territories of Aelvizdan, where the engagement took place. It can much better be described as an attempt by the remaining Evershining Elves to secure themselves a homeland amidst the violent collapse of the First Empire and the encroaching Orcish attackers.
Argel’s forces expected a quick victory, but the well-trained Kunosa’vlari were able to dispatch the first of their repeated assaults. Angered, he commanded his forces to bombard the Drow with projectiles to deplete their numbers and mana. This continued for hours before a second strike was ordered, this time hitting a magically depleted and weakened Drow force.
After a retreat was ordered, Vahrz utilized the last of his magic to destabilize the ground around him, rending it in instants and turning it into little more than sand. Unable to escape, he and several hundred Orcs plummeted to their deaths while the remainder of the Drow escaped to Aelvizdan.
